Happy New Year! We enter 2019 with much enthusiasm and motivation. As we take a look at what is to come in the next 12 months we have a focused plan to grow the sailing community and expand our voice. With over 350 sailing schools worldwide we are eager to start sharing news about what is happening across our educational platforms. While students are learning to sail they are also gaining a greater appreciation for the environment through new initiatives within the American Sailing Association. This year we will work to bring more young people into sailing with a new small boat curriculum and book. Our Veterans Sailing Program helps veterans, active military, and reservists to get out on the water for a little rest and relaxation. We are expanding our conservation work by bringing on a Marine Conservationist who will spearhead our efforts to help keep our ocean playgrounds clean. Throughout the year you will notice ASA working to diversify the landscape of sailing as well as encouraging you, the sailor, to utilize your skills to venture away from your local waters.
While we aim to get as many people out on the water as possible our goal remains the same; to spread the love of sailing as far and wide as we can. Grab a line, hold the tiller and check the wind because we are off on a great adventure and we are so grateful that you are part of the crew!
Go Sailing,
