Hello ASA friends and Family,

I never imagined we would all still be deeply affected by this worldwide pandemic in the middle of July. These are very trying times but ASA has a few ways to help you keep busy while you ride out the summer either on a stay-at-home order or in a modified quarantine. If you must stay indoors we have free content that can help you work on your sailing education from the comfort of your home. Many of you are also returning to the water and we know that being able to sail is giving you a respite from the stress of this current situation. This month we feature a few ways to expand on your sailing education as well as some tips to help you when you are out on the water. We also answer the question, “How do I learn to sail?”

Stay Safe! Wear a mask! We will get through this together.

Falling in Love with Sailing, 101 Steps at a Time
BLACK ROCK
As the COVID -19 restrictions have begun to slowly be lifted sailing schools have been able to start their summer sailing seasons. ASA had Caribbean Travel Writer, Bob Curley, participate in ASA 101 with Black Rock Sailing in Rhode Island as restrictions were lifted. Students wore masks in the classroom and on the boat.

BLUE PACIFIC
As we merge from the pandemic crisis sailing schools across the country and around the world have had to adapt to a changing landscape. One example of how all of this is being handled calmly and effectively is at Blue Pacific Yachting, in Marina Del Rey, California.
