Connecting Crew with Skippers
My local yacht club does a Wednesday Night PHRF race series, and we usually have 40-50 boats out each week throughout the summer. My students in ASA classes that I teach are always trying to find a crew to be a part of after taking an ASA course with me, but unless I know of a perfect fit boat for them where they need another crew member, it’s hard to help these new sailors out. Have any of you found success in helping skippers connect with these eager new crew? We’re thinking about hosting an open house at the yacht club this spring to try this out, but I’m wondering if others have tried this and have good ideas to make it successful?
