CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Social Media/Video Marketing Specialist plans, creates, and executes American Sailing's social media presence and content across all platforms and brands. This role develops the creative assets, copy, and video content that represent American Sailing on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels that drive enrollment, membership, and brand awareness. The Social Media Marketing Specialist works closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure every piece of social and campaign content is on-brand, on-strategy, and built to perform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce, and publish social media content across all American Sailing brands and platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others as appropriate.
  • Create, edit, and publish short-form and long-form video content for social media, ads, and internal use; manage the full video production and editing workflow.
  • Develop and execute the social media ad strategy, including creative concepts, testing roadmaps, audience targeting, and paid ad production across all brands.
  • Design multichannel campaigns: digital ads and social posts aligned to campaign briefs.
  • Write copy for all social posts.
  • Develop affiliate co-marketing assets and materials to support affiliated school local marketing and enrollment campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the Digital Marketing Specialist on landing page builds; ensure campaign traffic drives to optimized, on-brand destinations.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance: follower growth, engagement rates, reach, and paid media results; provide weekly and monthly performance updates to the Director of Marketing.
  • Stay current on social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms; recommend new content strategies to the Director of Marketing.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and monitoring digital marketing performance.
    • Strong video editing skills, with experience using media editing tools to create engaging video content tailored for social platforms.
    • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite for visual content development.
    • Familiarity with social listening tools like Hootsuite or Buffer for monitoring brand reputation and audience engagement.
    • Knowledge of SEO techniques, Google Analytics, web analytics, and marketing analytics to evaluate campaign success.
    • Ability to craft compelling written content with excellent proofreading skills for social media posts and marketing materials.
    • Experience in public relations or relationship management is a plus for fostering community engagement.
    • Understanding of social media platforms’ algorithms, advertising options such as Facebook Advertising, and e-commerce integration is desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills combined with a creative mindset to produce innovative multimedia campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
