Sailing is more fun with family and friends, so why not get your kids on the water on your next Caribbean vacation? The American Sailing Association is excited to debut the ultimate learn-to-sail experience for kids: A four day course available at three different Beaches Resorts! The class, appropriately named Sailing Fun, is designed to introduce kids ages eight to fourteen to the joy of sailing. The program is available daily to guests of Beaches Turks & Caicos, Beaches Negril, and Beaches Ocho Rios. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your ‘Nautical know how’ and learn to navigate the crystal clear waterways of the Caribbean!

Every Sailing Fun class is taught by Certified ASA Instructors on Hobie Cats or Lasers, two excellent dinghies. Hobie Cats and Lasers are ideal learn-to-sail boats because you can sail them right from the beach! They’re small and easy to maneuver, making learning to sail effortless and fun.

ASA Board Member and highly-acclaimed sailor, navigator, and television sailing commentator Peter Isler wrote the short course booklet, assuring that the key topics are easily accessible to our youth and presented in an engaging way. Sailing Fun focuses on helping young people discover their love for sailing, so students spend their time on the water instead of learning from a textbook on land. There is no written test, and those who attend all four sessions will receive a completion certificate and special Sailing Fun Logbook sticker. If your family is unable to attend all four days, students can complete the course during a future visit to a participating Beaches resort.

ASA is very proud of our collaboration with Beaches Resorts, and we hope you’ll take advantage of the superb Sailing Fun program on your next Caribbean vacation! Learn more now.
