By American Sailing

The Seattle Boat Show is one of those winter highlights that reminds us why we love this community. Boats, gear, ideas, and a whole lot of good conversations packed into a few days on the docks and in the halls.

This year, American Sailing, American Boating, and North U will all be there connecting with schools, instructors, partners, and friends from across the region. If you’re heading to the show, we’d love to cross paths.

When We’ll Be at the Show

We’ll be walking the show and meeting up with schools and friends on:

  • Friday, January 30
  • Sunday, February 1
  • Monday, February 2 (Women’s Day)

Keep an eye out for us around the sailing halls, seminar stages, and wherever good boating conversations are happening.

Schools We’re Excited to See

One of the best parts of the Seattle Boat Show is supporting the local schools that make sailing and boating accessible year-round. Make sure to stop by and say hello to these fantastic programs:

  • San Juan Sailing & Yachting
    Location: East 914
  • Seattle Sailing Club
    Location: Concourse 2335
  • Anacortes Yacht Charters
    Location: East 827

Each of these schools plays a huge role in growing confident sailors and boaters in the Pacific Northwest.

Seminars We’re Looking Forward To

Seattle’s waterfront sets the stage for conversations connections and inspiration at the Seattle Boat Show.

The Seattle Boat Show seminar schedule is packed, but there are a handful we’re especially excited about. Many are led by instructors and presenters you may already recognize from our online courses, which makes them even more fun to catch in person.

Here’s our short list of sessions we’re planning to see:

  • Mahina Offshore Cruising –
    Session 1: The Cruising Lifestyle
Session 2: Boat Selection and Priority Equipment
Session 3: Communications and Passage Planning
Session 4: Seamanship and Worldwide Anchoring
    John Neal
    Gio & Julie Cappelli
  • Choosing and Purchasing Your Ideal Offshore Sailboat
    John Neal
    2:00 pm | Stage #1
  • Bluewater Sailing Inventory
    Erica Georgaklis
    2:15 pm | Stage #2
  • Build Your Navigational Skills Using the Navionics App
    Linda Lewis & Margaret Pommert
  • Boating Safety: Lessons from Recent Incidents
    Margaret Pommert
    1:00 pm | Stage #1
  • Man Overboard Rescue for Sail and Powerboaters
    John Neal & Margaret Pommert
    3:00 pm | Stage #1

This mix covers offshore cruising, navigation, seamanship, and real-world safety. If you’re trying to decide how to spend your seminar time, these are all strong bets.

If you’re attending the Seattle Boat Show, come find us, introduce yourself, and tell us what you’re excited about this season. Whether you’re dreaming about offshore passages, brushing up on navigation skills, or just soaking in the energy of the show, this is one of the best places to do it.

See you at the show.
