Cruising on Cats
I love to cruise on multihulls. From my first experience on a Hobie to flying down the islands on a Gunboat – there is just something I love about multihull sailing. Aside from some of the “aesthetic” aspects of sailing a monohull; the benefits of a cat are pretty overwhelming. In this shot, we have just left the gulf stream on our way to the Abacos – catamaran sailing paradise in my opinion.
Side note… I shot this picture to tell the story of how we are staying better connected at sea. This is a crew member doing a Facetime call with his young daughter before she went off to school for the day. It is pretty cool we can share pics of the sunrise with friends and family while at sea. Clearly you can argue that all the connectivity can take away from the experience – but I think you can balance that with how we can stay in touch, sail safer and share our experience with more folks… all of which promotes more people going sailing – and that’s a good thing.
