    I sail on some pretty choppy waters in San Francisco, so staying on the deck and keeping my eyes on the horizon are essential. A sailor should always be scanning for traffic and weather, so in general a good idea not to keep your eyes fixed on anything / anyone on the boat.

    Staying away from the bow, as it bounces more and limiting time below also help. If someone is really seasick, I put them on the helm. Also, never show up hungover and expect not to feel an extra urge!
