For almost 10 years now Nautilus has been running week long live aboard sailing courses in Croatia every summer and fall, and we are excited to share some tips and secrets for all who wish to sail there! We’ll start by talking through logistics such as the best ways to fly to the area, fun things to see and do before your charter, recommended charter companies, provisioning, weather and prevailing winds. Ben Martin

Ben Martin is the Chief Operating Officer and a Sailing Instructor for Nautilus Sailing, an American Sailing school focused on liveaboard sailing courses in exotic destinations. Ben grew up in northern Maine, picked up his racing habit Newport RI, sailed up and down the east coast for a while, and bounced around the Mediterranean and Caribbean as a charter yacht captain before focusing on sailing instruction. Passionate about helping his students learn a new sport, or an old salt hone some skills, he loves being on the water watching his students transform into true sailors. A former engineer, he now spends his time with his family at home and traveling when he is not sailing and instructing. His areas of sail expertise are the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Mexico, and French Polynesia.
