What sets BaySail apart?
At BaySail, you’re not just learning to sail—you’re joining a community. As a family-run business, we take pride in offering a warm, welcoming experience that’s flexible, fun, and completely tailored to each student. Whether you’re starting your sailing journey or adding to your credentials, we meet you where you are and help you chart your course with confidence.
All of our instructors are USCG-licensed captains and ASA-certified instructors who bring not only technical skill but also patience, encouragement, and real-world sailing expertise. Many of our captains have cruised internationally, raced competitively, and taught for decades—but their passion is helping new sailors gain confidence on the water.
We also offer boat deliveries and captain-for-hire services, further extending our expertise beyond the classroom and into real-world boating needs.
Class sizes are kept intentionally small so every student receives plenty of one-on-one instruction and helm time. We’re also proud to offer a wide range of custom and flexible options that many schools don’t, including:

- 5-day / 4-night ASA 103/104 combo course

Sailing conditions in Havre de Grace typically feature 8–12 knot winds with calm mornings and breezy afternoons. The Susquehanna River offers a safe, controlled environment for beginner maneuvers, while the Chesapeake Bay provides real cruising experience with current, tides, and navigation opportunities.
Whether you’re learning the basics, building coastal confidence, or looking for a fun weekend adventure, BaySail offers an authentic, approachable sailing education that sticks with you long after you leave the dock.
