Seattle Sailing Club

Since 1968, Seattle Sailing Club has been one of the most active American Sailing certification schools in the country, offering year-round training with a focus on making sailing safe, fun, and professional.

Seattle Sailing Club is your gateway to sailing on Puget Sound – one of the most scenic and rewarding places to sail. Located at Shilshole Bay Marina, our school offers direct access to the stunning waters of Puget Sound, known for year-round sailing conditions, iconic mountain views, and diverse marine wildlife.

What sets us apart is our personalized, student-focused approach to teaching. Small class sizes ensure plenty of hands-on time and allow for deeper learning, better communication, and more time at the helm – making every moment on the water more impactful. Each of our instructors is U.S. Coast Guard-licensed and American Sailing-certified, with a shared passion for helping students become confident, capable sailors.

Our fleet includes sailboats ranging from 26 to 45 feet, plus a catamaran, giving students hands-on experience across a variety of boat types and sizes. From nimble daysailers to spacious cruising yachts, our boats are perfect for learning, practicing, and progressing through American Sailing courses. All classes are taught on the water, directly from our Shilshole Bay location, giving you immediate access to the dynamic conditions of Puget Sound – ideal for developing real-world sailing skills.
