Go Sail Flathead Lake: Embark on a Sailing Adventure in Montana’s Serene Paradise

Montana’s allure lies in its breathtaking landscapes and untamed beauty, from the majestic Glacier National Park to the vast expanses of the unspoiled wilderness. Amidst this grandeur lies a gem for sailing enthusiasts – Go Sail Flathead Lake Sailing School. Nestled near Glacier National Park, this sailing haven offers an idyllic summer getaway where sailing instruction seamlessly merges with the serenity of Flathead Lake.

Unveiling Flathead Lake

Flathead Lake, a glacier-fed wonder, stretches 7 miles long and 15 miles wide, adorned by the awe-inspiring panorama of Pine tree-filled Wild Horse Island State Park and neighboring islands. What makes this lake an ultimate sailing destination is its consistent wind, a refreshing 8-15 knot breeze that blesses the region from May to October. Sailing here promises to be a remarkable experience, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Learning with Go Sail Flathead Lake

At Go Sail Flathead Lake, the exceptional and personalized sailing experience offers ASA certifications in ASA 101, ASA 103, and ASA 104 on comfortable monohulls. Tailored lessons ensure students gain confidence in their sailing abilities. From beginner to advanced classes, hands-on learning allows commanding vessels and earning bareboat charter sailboat certifications in 4-person classes spanning two days. The school also offers 3-hour custom sailing charters for leisurely enjoyment or skill refinement under experienced captains.

Class is underway on a beautiful day on Flathead Lake.

Meet the Captains

The team of instructors at Go Sail Flathead Lake is nothing short of extraordinary. Let’s get to know some of them:

Captain Trevon Baker: With 30 years of sailing experience, Captain Trevon began his sailing journey right on Flathead Lake. His patient, considerate, and humorous personality creates a welcoming atmosphere in his classes.

Captain Kristie Hepburn: Drawn to Flathead Lake from sailing on the Hudson River, Captain Kristie brings 15 years of sailing experience to the classroom. Her vast knowledge and passion for teaching inspire her students.

Captain Chad Crist: Passionate about sailing, Captain Chad became an ASA instructor to share his love for the sport and enhance his own knowledge.

Captain Jon Barlow: Sailing has been a part of Captain Jon’s life from a very young age. His goal as an instructor is to share the joy he feels for sailing with his students.

Captain Genevieve Evans: As the founder of Go Sail Flathead Lake and Go Sail Virgin Islands, Captain Genevieve’s 10 years of sailing experience and bright personality make her an invaluable asset to her students.

Setting Sail on a Dream

Go Sail Flathead Lake was born from the passion and addiction to sailing, personified by Captain Genevieve Evans, the owner and operator. Her sailing journey commenced with an ASA 101/103 course in the Bahamas in 2010, leading to an extraordinary 1500-mile cruise through the Bahamian waters. This adventure marked the beginning of a lifelong dedication to sailing, inspiring others, and creating unique opportunities on the tranquil waters of Flathead Lake.

If you yearn for a sailing adventure amidst the grandeur of Montana, Go Sail Flathead Lake offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you are a novice seeking to learn the ropes or an experienced sailor yearning for new horizons, Go Sail Flathead Lake is your gateway to a sailor’s life filled with smiles, sails, and endless possibilities.
