Meet Grand Prize Winners Scott, Paula and Garrett Gibson who love sailing!  Although they now live in a place with very little wind, that has not stopped them learning to sail at the Great Lakes Sailing Company in Traverse City, MI (ASA 101, 103 and 104) and then at the Emerald Coast Yachts Sailing School (ASA 114). They’ve been sailing for five years and have some experience in the Caribbean with a bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands a few years ago.  Now they will have the opportunity to enjoy a Grenada yacht charter courtesy of Horizon Yacht Charters. This Grenada charter will be one more step along the path to one day retiring on a sailboat and going bluewater cruising. Congratulations to the Gibson family!

In 2019, ASA members donated over $47,000 to Hands Across The Sea and, to date, have been part of an effort that has donated over 500,000 books to more than 400 schools and libraries in the Eastern Caribbean. This year 591 people donated to this cause that helps children, libraries, and teachers in the Eastern Caribbean.

A special thanks goes out to Horizon Yacht Charter  who donates the grand prize to the annual sweepstakes. The grand prize winner will be able to sail the Grenadines thanks to Horizon Yacht Charter.

Hands Across the Sea donates books from education publishers Scholastic, Penguin and Capstone, and Caribbean imprints such as Macmillan Caribbean and Editorial Campana Books. Since its founding 12 years ago, the charity has expanded its services to also providing teacher professional development and student librarian training to Eastern Caribbean schools.

ASA is proud to partner with Hands Across the Sea annually for the Hands Across The Sea Sweepstakes.
