A few years ago, I helped with the delivery of a 1D 35 sailboat up the length of Lake Huron. It was an amazing ride with friends. We were lucky to have both strong winds and calm, but the most noteworthy part was the beauty of the little harbor towns we stopped in each night. Presque Isle was my favorite quaint little town in the midst of the woods, with a lovely shop for provisions and an ice cream shop. I’m wondering if others have favorite harbors on the Great Lakes they’d like to recommend?

Racine (WI) and Frankfort (MI) are my favorite on Lake Michigan. Sheboygan (WI) is also a great town. The marina though is not what it once was just a few years ago.

Frankfort is the best! I haven’t brought a boat into that marina, but the town is lovely. Great food and a beautiful beach, along with some stellar kiteboarding when the wind picks up.
