If you are on deck, the PFD is on you is my philosophy. Just because the “weather is light” doesn’t guarantee someone might not lose their balance and inadvertently fall overboard. And who knows what body part of that person might hit something on their way going into the water.

I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years. I saw a lot of things during that time. One thing I never saw was an unconscious person swim.
