Sail Olympia

Every Sail Olympia course is fully private and taught by the owners, Beth and Ben, USCG Master Captains and ASA instructors. Our dual-instructor model is designed for couples and crews learning together. Students connect with different teaching styles, while two instructors keep both partners actively involved as they learn essential two-person skills like docking, anchoring, tacking, and jibing. Just as importantly, we model the calm communication that builds confident crews.

Our signature experience is a five-day, four-night liveaboard course, designed around how couples learn and travel. It provides time to settle into life aboard, build skills through repetition, and earn one or two ASA certifications without requiring an entire vacation week. When another format better fits your goals or experience, we customize private three- to seven-day courses.

You’ll live and learn aboard Meritage, the boat we own, cruise, and continually refine for both cruising and instruction. Every course is fully provisioned and all-inclusive. We take care of the shopping, meals, and hospitality, thoughtfully accommodating dietary needs so you can focus on learning, relaxing, and enjoying life aboard together.

South Puget Sound is one of North America’s finest cruising classrooms. Protected waters, varied wind, tidal currents, busy marinas, quiet anchorages, and abundant wildlife create an ideal classroom for building real cruising skills.
