There’s a certain kind of person who answers the call of open water. The one setting dock lines loose before sunrise. The night-watch keeper quietly scans the horizon beneath a sky full of stars. The crew that understands the best conversations happen somewhere between the first cup of coffee and the first sail hoist.

If that sounds familiar, welcome aboard. At Skipper’s Remedy®, we like to say: our café is your galley. Our specialty coffee and artisan tea are sourced and crafted specifically for life at sea, because we believe the best adventures deserve better coffee.

Skippers Remedy vision
Every passage starts with a plan — and a good cup of coffee. Make sure your galley is stocked before you cast off.

Brew the Adventure

Every voyage begins long before the sails are raised. It begins while planning the route. Checking the weather. Provisioning the boat. Packing safety gear. And making absolutely certain someone remembered the coffee.

Around here, coffee isn’t an afterthought. It’s part of the voyage plan.

That’s why every Skipper’s Remedy® coffee is selected with sailors in mind …from globally sourced single-origin coffees to our signature nautical-inspired blends that taste just as good anchored in a quiet cove as they do crossing an open bay.

Whether you’re preparing for a weekend cruise, a week-long flotilla, a club race, or an offshore passage, we’re here to help Fuel Your Crew.

Built for Sailors, Not Cafés

Life aboard presents challenges your neighborhood coffee shop never has to consider.

Your galley might be:

  • Compact.
  • Constantly moving.
  • Running on limited freshwater.
  • Brewing coffee while heeled over fifteen degrees.

That’s why simplicity matters. Our coffees are roasted fresh, shipped directly from the roastery to you, and designed to work beautifully with brewing methods sailors already trust, including:

French Press

One of the easiest and most reliable methods aboard. Minimal equipment, excellent flavor, and easy cleanup. Use a coarse grind.

Percolator

A time-tested favorite found aboard countless cruising sailboats. Rugged, dependable, and perfect for serving an entire crew. Use a coarse grind.

Many sailors also enjoy using Moka pots or pour-over brewers, but regardless of your preferred setup, our coarse-ground options are ready for the voyage.

From whole bean to single-use pods, Skipper’s Remedy® has a format that works for every galley setup — however compact or unconventional.

Provisioning Coffee Like a Skipper

One of the most common provisioning questions is surprisingly simple: “How much coffee do we actually need?” Let’s plan for a crew of five sailors on a ten-day passage.

Assuming everyone enjoys approximately two 12-ounce cups each day, you’ll brew roughly:

  • 10 cups per day
  • 100 cups over ten days

Using the Specialty Coffee Association’s “Golden Ratio,” a great starting point is approximately:

1 gram of coffee for every 16-17 grams (milliliters) of water.  That works out to roughly 20 grams of coffee per 12-ounce mug, depending on your preferred strength.

For a ten-day passage:

  • 100 cups × 20 grams = approximately 2,000 grams of coffee

That’s about:

  • 4.4 pounds (2 kilograms) of coffee

Many crews prefer bringing 5 pounds to account for longer watches, guests, stronger morning brews, or the occasional “I definitely earned another cup” moment after a lively docking.

Trust us. You’ll never hear anyone complain about bringing too much good coffee.

Don’t Forget the Brewing Water

Coffee provisioning isn’t only about beans. It’s also about water. Those 100 cups will require approximately: 30 liters (8 gallons) of fresh water just for brewing coffee. And that’s in addition to the drinking water your crew should consume each day.

A good hydration guideline while sailing in warm weather is 2-4 liters of drinking water per person, per day, depending on activity level and conditions. For five sailors over ten days, that’s approximately:

  • 100-200 liters (26-53 gallons) of drinking water.

Add your coffee brewing water, and it’s easy to see why freshwater planning deserves just as much attention as meal planning.

Happy crew. Hydrated crew. Caffeinated crew. (Those are generally the same crew.)

Fresh Coffee Stows Better

Freshness matters. Every time coffee is exposed to oxygen, it begins losing the aromas and flavors that make specialty coffee special (specialty-grade is the highest quality grade level). That’s one reason we offer convenient 2-ounce provisioning packets.

They’re ideal for:

  • Weekend sails,
  • Overnight passages,
  • Charter boats,
  • Regattas,
  • Emergency coffee reserves (yes, those are absolutely a thing)

Each packet stays sealed until you’re ready to brew, minimizing air exposure while making it easy to organize your galley.

Need more? We also offer:

  • 12 oz bags
  • 2 lb bags
  • 5 lb bags

Whether provisioning for a solo weekend or an extended offshore adventure, we’ve got a size that fits your voyage.

Freshly Roasted. Shipped Wherever the Wind Takes You.

At Skipper’s Remedy®, we’ve charted a different course …one that delivers fresh-roasted, specialty-grade coffee and artisan tea directly to your dock, home, or workplace without sitting on a warehouse shelf. Unlike mass-produced coffees that can lose their freshness long before they reach your cup, every order is roasted within 3-5 days and ships free anywhere in the U.S., ensuring exceptional flavor from roaster to galley.

Whether you’re provisioning for an offshore passage, preparing for a weekend regatta, or simply stocking your home coffee bar, Skipper’s Remedy® makes it easy to enjoy freshly roasted coffee delivered directly to your:

  • Marina
  • Yacht Club
  • Home
  • Office
  • Boatyard
  • Business

Wherever your next adventure begins, let it start with coffee that’s roasted for the journey …not the warehouse.

It’s an easy way to keep your galley stocked with freshly roasted coffees and artisan teas delivered automatically, so you’re always ready for the next forecast, the next cruise, or the next unexpected invitation to go sailing.

Because saying “Yes, but I forgot the coffee” is no way to start an adventure.

Fuel the Crew. Brew the Adventure.

At Skipper’s Remedy®, every roast begins with a simple belief: Coffee belongs wherever adventure lives.

On quiet marina mornings. During competitive regattas. On coastal passages. At anchor beneath a thousand stars. Or simply around the cockpit after another unforgettable day under sail.

We’re proud to be founded by a sailor, and tested at sea. Because the best coffee isn’t measured only by what’s in the cup. It’s measured by the stories shared around it.

So wherever your next course may lead… Fuel Your Crew.
