ASA101 sailing classes are held over two weekends giving the beginning sailor lots of “tiller time”. In addition, Mulberry Cove offers a wide assortment of water sports and activities including powerboat and kayak rentals.

Our sailing area offers deep water sailing in shore and offshore with easy access to the Atlantic. Our boats are docked on the ICW and we are able to sail right off the dock. Currents here are strong and offer challenging conditions, as well as pristine sailing areas. We have favorable winds and sail year-round. A student can expect to find an array of conditions and circumstances that would be useful for future sailing.

Our floating classroom is right by the dock ready when you are back for debriefing. Our instructors are patient, friendly and very experienced with any kind of weather situation. Buffalo’s summer season is famous for its variety of conditions, changing almost daily. The fleet of 13 boats ranges from small sailing dinghy’s to 32 Ft. Ahoy! Veteran Sailing Association is the Florida Keys newest ASA sailing school located in the Upper Florida Keys. Capt. Joe is a US NAVY SEAL, who (being a native) knows the waters having sailed them his entire life. VSA’s custom ASA training program is geared toward Veterans, those that support them and couples seeking the confidence to sail unassisted without any prior sailing experience.

We own three boats, a Cal 22, a Hunter 28, and a new Beneteau Oceanis 41 for our 104 and 106 classes. Our beginning courses are taught over three days in the peaceful Chester River just off the Chesapeake Bay. For our 104 class we explore the calm rural anchorage areas of the Eastern Shore and visit Annapolis. Our 106 class does a Delmarva circumnavigation of approximately 450-500 nm with lots of night and ocean sailing experience.

We offer one-week classes that include lodging and a 3-day excursion aboard a Lagoon 380 catamaran. The courses we offer are ASA 101, 103, 104, and 114.
